2010 MICHIGAN HIGH SCHOOL
HOCKEY EXCELLENCE PROGRAM
Arctic Coliseum Ice Arena
501 Coliseum Drive
Chelsea, Michigan 48118
Dear Coach,
The Michigan High School Hockey Coaches Association, along with Skill Tech Off-Ice Training Centers, is proud to announce the ninth annual Michigan High School Hockey Excellence Program.
Held at the Chelsea Arctic Coliseum, the program is scheduled for July 15th - July 18, 2010. The camp is directed by Edmonton Oilers Director of Player Development Bob Mancini and Chelsea High School Head Coach Don Wright, and showcases Michigan’s best sophomore, junior and senior high school players.
This special four-day event gives elite players in Michigan’s high school hockey programs an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of National Hockey League scouts, as well as college and junior coaches. In addition to a four-game schedule, each player will be involved in three skill development practices and three off-ice training and educational sessions. These off-ice sessions are designed to assess each player’s physical ability and to benefit his development as a player. At the end of the camp, each player will receive an in-depth written evaluation from an NHL scout, who has been personally assigned to evaluate his team. This evaluation will document strengths and weaknesses, along with suggestions for players’ continued development and improvement.
We will also be presenting three seminars aimed at helping players and parents answer frequently asked questions regarding future hockey plans and help them navigate through the next phases of their development. Please help us make this event a success by distributing the enclosed letter and application to your appropriate players. Please make copies if needed. Players will be selected on a first come-first serve basis. For more information, please call us at the numbers below, or e-mail us at hockeyexcellence@charter.net.
Sincerely,
