The MHSHCA Perseverance Award was established in 2003 to salute a Michigan high school hockey player who has over-come personal, health or family issues in order to continue supporting or playing hockey for his school.
This award recognizes courage, determination, and a positive attitude in the face of adversity. The recipient is an example to not only his teammates, peers at school, but all schools who sponsor ice hockey in Michigan.
The award carries a 9 x 12 engraved plaque and a $500 academic scholarship to a school of the winner’s choice.
